Researchers from the Donald Beasley Institute are currently working on a project that seeks to understand disabled people’s access to, and experiences of, a wide range of abortion services in Aotearoa New Zealand. The research findings will feed into the New Zealand Government's 5-year review of the Abortion Legislation Act 2020. It will help the government and healthcare providers to deliver more equitable, inclusive and accessible abortion services in Aotearoa New Zealand. In this project, they are looking for 20 disabled people to answer a questionnaire. They would like to hear from people who have accessed abortion services or have thought about using abortion services since 2020. You can access the questionnaire here: corexmss43gf6x5cw7qm.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_732G5cxJE1lAsGGIn this project, disability is interpreted broadly and is inclusive of anyone who: experiences mental distress/psychosocial disability; has a chronic illness; is neurodivergent (i.e. is autistic, has fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, ADHD, a traumatic brain injury etc); is physically disabled; is blind or has low vision; is D/deaf or hard-of-hearing; or has a learning (intellectual) disability. ...
